Significance, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our growing team. This position is remote and will require a Public Trust clearance.
The Senior AWS Developer will design, build, and maintain a secure and scalable cloud-based integration layer. This role is critical in enabling real-time and event-driven data exchange across enterprise systems.

Requirements:
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using Amazon API Gateway and backend services such as AWS Lambda and EC2
- Build and manage cloud-native data solutions using Amazon RDS, ensuring data integrity and reliability
- Develop event-driven architectures using Amazon S3, SQS, and SNS for asynchronous and file-based processing
- Implement security best practices, including:
- IAM roles and policies
- VPC configuration
- Data encryption (at rest and in transit)
- Logging and audit controls
- Ensure compliance with ATO (Authority to Operate) requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams and external system owners to define:
- Integration patterns
- API contracts
- Deployment strategies
- Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
- Monitor system performance and optimize for cost, scalability, and availability
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and governance standards
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of software development experience, with strong focus on AWS
- Hands-on experience with:
- API Gateway, Lambda, EC2
- RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle)
- S3, SQS, SNS
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and integration patterns
- Experience implementing secure, compliant systems (ATO/FedRAMP preferred)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code
- Strong understanding of networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch)
