Job Overview
The Sales Development Representative will serve as the first point of contact for inbound leads, guiding potential clients through the initial stages of their roofing or construction project with warmth, professionalism, and curiosity. The Sales Development Representative will conduct targeted market research before each call to personalize conversations and ensure every lead feels genuinely heard. This role sits at the intersection of sales, customer care, and research – making it ideal for someone who thrives on building meaningful connections and driving pipeline quality.

Responsibilities:
Lead Engagement & Conversation Management
- Handle inbound calls from leads discussing upcoming roofing and construction projects, answering inquiries and collecting key information.
- Establish rapport quickly, ensuring every conversation feels natural, personalized, and client-centered.
- Communicate service offerings, general pricing guidance, and project timelines so clients understand how their needs can be addressed.
- Capture critical customer details – project scope, property location, and specific requirements – and route them to the appropriate internal team.
Market Research & Lead Preparation
- Research leads prior to calls, including using Google Earth to review property details and tailor talking points accordingly.
- Leverage gathered insights to make each touchpoint feel relevant and informed, demonstrating genuine understanding of the client’s situation.
Customer Information Collection & Qualification
- Record accurate and detailed customer data, ensuring clean handoffs to sales and project management team members.
- Qualify leads based on interest level, project readiness, and fit, ensuring only high-quality prospects advance in the pipeline.
Follow-Up & Pipeline Nurturing
- Maintain a proactive follow-up cadence to ensure no lead is overlooked or left without a next step.
- Log all lead interactions in the CRM system with complete, up-to-date notes to keep the follow-up process streamlined.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner closely with the sales team to ensure smooth and timely handoffs of qualified leads.
- Provide regular updates on call performance, lead quality, and conversational insights to support continuous team improvement.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of experience in sales, customer service, or a similar client-facing role.
- Demonstrated ability to engage leads or clients in a professional, friendly, and goal-oriented manner.
- Experience using CRM software to log interactions and manage lead data accurately.
- Hands-on experience with research tools such as Google Earth or similar platforms for property or market research.
- Proven track record of managing follow-up sequences and nurturing leads without prompting.
