We are looking for a talented and detail-driven Graphic Designer to join the design team at Your Local Link, with a primary focus on print advertising and commercial print design.
This role is centred around producing high-quality magazine advertisements and professional print materials for local businesses. You will work closely with our sales and editorial teams to turn briefs into effective, press-ready artwork.
Your Local Link is a well-established, local publishing and media company based in York. We produce and distribute five monthly publications across North and East Yorkshire, including Your Local Link Magazine, The Best Pages (North & East), What’s On York Guide and Keep it Handy Guides.
Our work supports hundreds of local businesses each month, and design quality is at the heart of what we do.
Based at our Clifton Moor office, you’ll be part of a small, friendly and fast-paced team environment.

Job Description
- Design print advertisements for our monthly publications (A4 A5)
- Create artwork for commercial print including leaflets, flyers, menus, stationery, promotional material and more
- Amend and update existing advert artwork in line with client feedback
- Prepare press-ready artwork to correct specifications (bleed, crop, colour profiles)
- Work from both detailed and basic briefs, interpreting client needs into strong visual solutions
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure artwork meets deadlines and brand guidelines
- Manage multiple live projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- High attention to detail
- Understanding of print production processes
- Excellent typography and layout skills
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Clear communication skills and a professional manner
- Previous experience in magazine advertising and/or print design is highly desirable although full training will be given.
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
